Warm compresses provide for relief from tired, dry, irritated eyes.
They are especially beneficial for persons with Dry Eye Syndrome (insufficient tear production), Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid margin) or Styes.
They also help you get relaxed for sleep.
Applying a Warm Compress
Properly wash hands
Fill a clean bowl with lukewarm water
Soak a clean washcloth in the warm water
Wring out the washcloth and then place it over your closed eyelids until it cools off
Repeat steps 3-4 about two (2) more times, or until you have had the lukewarm cloth over your closed eyelids for about five (5) to (10) minutes.
Finally, wash your lids gently with warm water.
