education
Trinidad Eye Hospital is committed to training, development and knowledge sharing in all areas and levels of eyecare. Our doctors deliver lectures for ophthalmologists, optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, general practitioners and ophthalmic students alike.
Partnerships have been built and continue to be forged with the University of the West Indies, The Trinidad and Tobago Optometrist Association, The Eye Correction Centre and many others to encourage growth and development of all Ophthalmic professionals within the country.
Dr. Vineeth Kumar leads all of the education programmes at Trinidad Eye Hospital. He was a trainer at the Royal College of Ophthalmology Microsurgical Course- and is especially passionate to deliver presentations in his area of subspecialty including diabetic retinopathy. Along with fellow consultant ophthalmologist, Dr. Ronnie Bhola, they have started an ophthalmology programme for resident CVRS doctors: CVRS OST Programme
Continuous development of the CVRS team of doctors is cultivated by the attendance at international ophthalmology conferences as well as participating in research studies together with the regular submission of publications and CME points acquisition.
Patient education is also very active to raise awareness on eyecare targeting patient communities throughout the country via partnerships with organizations like the Diabetes Association of Trinidad and Tobago (DAAT) and Trinidad and Tobago Association of Retired Persons (TTARP).
