The Gift of Sight
The Gift of Sight Initiative is our Free Cataract Surgery Programme.
It is done twice a year in July (Christmas in July) and December.
All surgical supplies and resources are generously donated in support of this initiative.
Since 2016, TEH, together with our sponsors, have done more than 150 free cataract surgeries.

Our goal is to develop a steady funding stream that will allow for 500 free cataract surgeries to be done annually by the year 2025.
Sight Saver
Charity Vitrectomy Surgery
The Sight Saver Charity Vitrectomy Surgery Programme was started in December 2019 when a group of 25 sponsors donated funds towards the cost of vitrectomy surgeries for 6 persons with diabetes who were at high risk of completely losing their eye sight.
With more than 200,000 persons with diabetes in Trinidad and Tobago, 1 in every 3 persons will be at risk of developing sight-threatening retinopathy.
Through the kindness and generosity of sponsors and support from key funding agencies, we hope to help as many persons as possible with sight saving surgeries.
